Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands and is located about 170 km away from the Spanish mainland. Many places on the island are popular holiday destinations for vacationers from around the world, but particularly Britisch and German tourists value this special holiday destination and come to spend their annual vacation almost every year.
Majorca is divided into six parts: The Serra de Tramuntana (the Tramuntana mountain range), the region Raiguer, the Pla de Mallorca, the region Llevant, Migjorn and Palma de Mallorca. Most popular with tourists all over the worlds is the southwest of Majorca, especially the cities or towns Puerto Andratx, Portals Nous, Paguera, Cala Fornells, Bendinat and Illetas. Many holiday homes, apartments and villas are located directly on the coast and promise a wonderful holiday at the beach with fun and lots of sun. Further north on the west coast you have the towns of Port Soller, Valldemossa and Deià, which are close to or in the Tramuntana Mountains. The advantage here is, that especially in the hot summer month it is a bit cooler than right on the cost.
The capital, Palma de Mallorca, is always worth a visit and even here there are several holiday lettings, mainly apartments, offered for rent. In the south of the island you also find many beautiful and popular places such as the well-known Arenal, Bahia Azul, Cala Pi, and further east the towns of Porto Cristo, Manacor, Calas de Mallorca, Cala D'Or and Cala Murada. Gorgeous beaches and coves invite you to swim in crystal clear waters or snorkel along the rocky coastline.
Many Majorca lovers appreciate especially in the months from autumn to spring because of the mild climate and come to spend several weeks on the island escaping the cold winter months at home.
